Every Local Business Can be Stung by Social Media

Be Careful with Social Media - from IowaBiz.com

I got alot out of this article and think you will too. It is in IowaBiz, an online publication of the Des Moines Business Record. It is a useful source for statewide news (though I haven't been able to crack their code for submitting news about Carroll or Carroll County).

Of course, the main message here is, "provide good customer service". Social media is a powerful marketing tool for your business and for our communities. It is important to track your social media mentions even if you don't have a presence. There are a number of ways to do this. One of the most popular is Google Alerts - email updates of the latest relevant Google results (web, news, etc.) based on your choice of query or topic. I use them for the Chamber, Carroll Area Development Corporation and Carroll County communities. Your business could benefit from this sort of tracking. You could learn what customers are saying about you.
