Two Energizing Workshops Sponsored by the Chamber

Two great speakers from Le Mars spent time in Carroll today presenting energizing workshops to Chamber members.
Angela Watson presents Hospitality Magic Tricks
Angela Watson presented Hospitality Magic Tricks in the morning to a group that enjoyed hearing how customer service ultimately effects the bottom line. She informed how important it is for employees to have fun at work and how that directly affects how they treat the customer.  Thank you Angela for sharing your expertise with the Chamber members.








Dave Smetter presents The Three Pillars of Business Success
Dave Smetter informed the afternoon group the three pillars of success are Leadership, Communication and Employee Engagement.  He shared many examples of these pillars in his presentation.  Thanks Dave. It was a great day of learning for many Chamber members.

32 Business People Receive Training

This morning Bob Clements from E-Myth Benchmark shared his expertise with 32 local business owners/managers at "Design Your Business For Success" workshop sponsored by the Carroll Chamber of Commerce. After explaining 5 core principles to follow in business, he related that there are three business personalities; the Entrepreneur, Manager and Technician and gave details of each.
Thank you Bob for coming to Carroll and I am sure our members participating in your workshop will implement some of the strategies you shared.

"Coping With and Managing Conflict" Workshop

Join Chamber Exec. Director Jim Gossett as he presents "Coping With and Managing Conflict", a three-hour interactive workshop that will show participants how to recognize and resolve conflict in personal and professional situations. The Workshop will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2009 from 9:00 A.M. - noon, in the St. Clair Room at St. Anthony Regional Hospital Education Center. In this fast-paced workshop, participants will learn how to recognize what conflict is, how to identify the various types of conflict personalities and learn strategies for managing conflict. The cost is $25 per person for Chamber members and $45 per person for non-members. Good Turn Out For Workshop


The Chamber had a good turn out for "When Conversations Turn Crucial" this morning at the Carrollton. Speaker Shirley Poertner shared insight on how our emotions effect our actions. She gave tips on how to use dialogue when conversations become crucial. Kelly Fischbach, Carroll Public Library Director was present for the workshop and has ordered 10 copies of "Crucial Conversations" in book form and one in CD form. If businesses or groups want to reserve them, check it out at the Carroll Public Library.
